My approach to counseling is individualized and evidence-based. I take a systems perspective while also helping you focus on making changes that are within your control. I may utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Brainspotting depending on your specific needs.

In my work with clients who are seeking to change their relationship with food and their bodies, I take a Health At Every Size and Intuitive Eating-based approach.

Regarding substance use and addiction, I believe there are many roads to recovery. I will meet you where you are and support you in working toward your individual goals. This may include utilizing Motivational Interviewing to help you harness your motivation for positive change, creating relapse prevention plans to support your recovery, and/or practicing harm reduction to minimize the risk created by issues with substance use.

I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist; I have experience working with trans, nonbinary and genderfluid clients and offering support with their exploration and expression of gender.

My qualifications:

I am licensed to practice counseling in North Carolina (LCMHC #15301, #LCAS-2584) and in Colorado (#LPC.0019424).

I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Appalachian State University in 2019, where I also completed a certificate in Addictions Counseling.

Since graduating, I have been in the field full time and have completed phases I and II of Brainspotting training, as well as training on additional topics including gender-affirming practices in therapy and ACT-based interventions for anxiety and OCD.

Although I am fully licensed and no longer required to receive supervision, I still meet with a supervisor regularly and engage in consultation groups that help me better serve my clients.

About me:

Aside from being a therapist, I generally love being outside, whether Iā€™m climbing, hiking, biking, or finding stillness in nature. I also enjoy trying new cuisines, listening to podcasts, watching movies, reading, and hanging out with my tiny zoo (aka the two cats and a dog that run my household).
